New here? We’ve got you

First time made easy

Every guest was new once. Here’s exactly what happens from booking to arrival, so there are no surprises - just epic parties.

On the night

What to expect

  • 01 Book Tickets

All events are ticketed and must be booked in advance via our Events page, no paying on the door. Tickets close when an event sells out or two hours before start time so don’t wait!

Keep an eye on your email for your e-ticket and essential info on the event from your event hosts such as event guides and group chats. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable and subject to our Booking Policy.

  • 02 Check In

On arrival, your ticket is scanned and you’ll be checked in at reception. Non-members must bring valid photo ID and proof of address, such as driving licence, passport or utility bill.

Townhouse operates a cashless bar, and requires a £10 cash locker deposit after check-in to use for your bar-tab.

Entry may be refused if you don’t meet dress code, appear intoxicated, or arrive after the last entry. See our Admission Policy for full details.

  • 03 Start Your Night

Once you’re in, one of our Townhouse Buddies will show you around the building, walk you through the rules, and answer any burning questions. You’ll know exactly where everything is before the night gets going.

From there, it’s up to you to socialise, watch, or jump straight in. There’s no pressure and no expectation to play. Our Townhouse Staff and buddies are on hand throughout the night to keep you safe.

Dress to impress

Dress Code

We ask all guests to make an effort with their appearance on arrival, as it contributes to the atmosphere for everyone. First impressions matter, and we want you to look and feel your best. Some events have specific dress codes so it’s important to read the description carefully. Not permitted on arrival (fancy dress on themed nights excepted):

  • Sportswear
  • Gym trainers
  • Ripped jeans
  • Ugg boots
  • Hats / Caps
  • Workwear

What To Wear

First impressions count, and we want you to look and feel your best, so our general dress code is dress to impress. Think date night: proper shoes or heels, smart jeans or trousers, dresses, tops or a shirt.

At the weekends, many guests step it up; sharp suits, shirt and tie, or a bit of glam and sparkle. Mix and match however you like: there are no ‘his’ or ‘hers’ rules here. Well-groomed and nicely dressed is always a winner; just make sure you’re comfortable too so you can dance the night away in style.

Swinging Dress Down

Before 10:30pm, wear whatever you arrived in, and you’re welcome to stay dressed and be social on the ground floor all night. After 10:30pm, dressing down is required to access the upstairs play areas: lingerie, a wrap, tasteful boxers or a towel.

BDSM + Fetish Wear

For Kink or fetish events, we do not enforce a dress down policy, but instead enforce a dress code of ‘fetish wear’. At a minimum, that’s dark, smart clothing, but we encourage you to get kinky with leather, latex or other alt fashion.
FAQ

Your questions, answered

Do I have to join in?

Absolutely not. Most newcomers take things at their own pace. Some watch, some socialise, some enjoy a private session with their partner and nothing else. It can take a few visits before you feel comfortable exploring further, and some members never play with others at all. There's no pressure, no expectation, and no judgement.

Do I need to bring ID?

First timers and non-members must bring photo ID and proof of address when checking in.

How do I get invited to play?

All play at Townhouse is invite-only, even in the group rooms. Play is never guaranteed, and the best mindset is to treat any visit as a great night out: socialising, meeting people and having fun. If play happens, it's a bonus. Come with zero expectations, and you'll never be disappointed. The key to being invited to play is simple: socialise, have a conversation, establish a connection. Please do not interrupt ongoing play to ask to be invited, and if a 'no' is given at any stage, it must be respected.

Is swinging good for a struggling relationship?

In our honest experience: no. Swinging works best as an addition to a relationship that is already open, healthy and communicative. It's not a solution to problems or a way to inject missing excitement. If you're going through a rocky patch, we'd gently recommend addressing that first.

What about safe sex?

We actively promote and support safe sex. Condoms (including king size and latex-free options) and lubricant are available free of charge at the bar, reception and in the playrooms. We also host drop-in STI testing clinics at certain events throughout the year. Contact Us for details of the next clinic.

What if I see someone I know?

They're there for the same reason as you - so after the initial surprise, you'll probably both see the funny side. Confidentiality is the absolute cornerstone of the swinging scene. What goes on in the club, stays in the club. No outing, no gossiping... full stop!

What if we're not sure what we want?

That's perfectly fine and very common. Come along, have a drink, meet people, and see how you feel. Set a loose boundary for yourselves and revisit it as you become more comfortable with the environment. Many members find their preferences shift naturally the more time they spend on the scene.

What is the age range?

All guests must be 18 or over. The average age at Townhouse is broadly 28-45, though this varies by event.

Will there be people of all body types?

Yes, absolutely. There is no ‘typical’ Townhouse member. We welcome people of all shapes, sizes, ages and confidence levels. Most people have their own insecurities - you won't be alone in feeling nervous. Dressing down and being accepted as you are is genuinely liberating.
