Townhouse is located in the heart of Birkenhead, on the Wirral Peninsula, just five minutes from Liverpool city centre. The club is a short walk from the town centre and is easily accessible by car or public transport.
We are housed in a former pub which appears discreet and inconspicuous from the outside. It is a large, cream-coloured building on the corner of Union Street, beside the iron railway bridge. Entry is through the black metal gates.

Travelling by car
Coming from Liverpool, we are a few minutes drive from the Queensway Mersey tunnel. Head out of the tunnel, pass the Rock Retail Park and head down the A41. Take a right at the lights by the Shell garage toward the Low Bridge. Union Street is on your left.
If you’re coming up the M53, come off at Junction 5 and head toward Birkenhead via the A41. Take a left turn at the lights beside the Greek restaurant toward the Low Bridge. Townhouse is on your left.
Public transport
For guests coming by train the nearest station is Green Lane, just ten minutes walk from the club. If you’re unable to get to Green Lane, there are other options including Rock Ferry (15 mins walk), Birkenhead Central (20 mins walk), and Hamilton Square (25 mins walk).
Anyone who prefers to travel by bus will find the nearest bus stop is just a few minutes walk away, with routes 1, 2, 40, 40a, 41, 41a, 42, 807, 811, 817 and 854 stopping here.
If you would like to use a discreet private hire taxi company, we recommend Argyle Taxis on 0151 201 1111. That also have their own app, which you’ll find on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Staying Overnight
We appreciate that some guests may be traveling from out of town and may wish to stay overnight. Happily, there are a variety of hotels in the area.
Most popular with our guests is The Village Hotel in Bromborough. This is just a few minutes drive away from the club, and is a comfortable local option with an upmarket feel.
For the more budget-conscious, there is a Premier Inn just a couple of minutes drive away, and a Travelodge a little further afield. Both are comfortable and reliable options for a good night’s sleep.
Parking
Unfortunately, the club has no on-site parking so you will have to find parking nearby. Please be discreet, and please avoid parking in front of residential driveways as this will annoy or upset the club’s neighbours.
There is a small car park which is available for public use, just across the road at the Maritime Knowledge Hub. You can get to this car park via the access road which runs parallel to the A41. For satnav purposes, use Vanguard Way, CH41 9HX. The club is a short walk, across the dual carriageway, from this car park. Please take care crossing the road, especially at night.
